In other words, like an old lover who has already broken your heart a dozen times, is the old bull knocking on the door again? IMO, here’s a message for the old bull!

It’s always important to remember that the stock market trades on the expectations of FUTURE earnings, which can be heavily impacted by government policy and its impact on economic indicators. The Dow has dropped over 900 points in the the two days following the election.

It looks as if the new Congress will have 44 or 45 Republican senators. I understand the temptation they might have to cry in their beer over the election results. But the people have spoken, and it's time to move on.

First, congratulations to Barack Obama for his election to the presidency, and to Joe Biden as our incoming vice-president.

Second, in our populist-oriented democracy, story lines trump policy and ideology. Last night the Obama story line was the clear winner: here is a charismatic, eloquent, African-American reform politician with the rock star persona who will end the divisiveness of the Bush presidency.

It is our New Tone responsibility to put it out!

There is enough uncertainty in the polls, and their perversion by the MSM and the other usual suspects, to indicate that John McCain has a real shot at pulling this one off. SO VOTE!

Even if we don’t bag the big enchilada, a great GOP turnout is absolutely essential to show that we’re in the game to stay. The long-term health of any party depends on its performance in Congressional and state elections. As you read this, some stars of the GOP’s future will be nervously awaiting the returns of Election 2008. Do the right thing and help them out. SO VOTE!

I will be B-A-A-A-C-K! Yesterday’s shakedown broadcast was kind of a disaster from a technical point of view, but it was a fun disaster. Kind of like the Titanic with no ocean and no Celine Dion.

Thanks to Caleb Howe and Brian Simpson, I was introduced to this fascinating new media tool and had some fun moments listening to the Unusable Signal Show.

So I have decided to do my own show on current events. Which will be much more low key! The first one is this evening at 5PM Central, 6 Eastern. In boating terminology, it's a shakedown cruise, and I hope I don't do too badly. This stuff is all pretty new to me.

Of all the Obaminable fairy tales, the campaign's position on taxes is the most entertaining. Like, you just raise taxes, and the money comes just comes in, right? And nothing else happens!

Uh, no. So let taxes become our Muse this Halloween day. Updates to come....
